Home » About About Wyo912Project.com The 9/12 Project was conceived by Glenn Beck (Foxnews) in response to the incredible and sobering politics that began with the Stimulus package and then continued into the downward spiral that we have all been witnessing since then. Most Americans who were paying attention back then, were shocked. We couldn't believe something of that magnitude was passed by Congress without our voted-into-office Representatives even reading it! As time progressed, and we watched powerlessly as our government began the outrageous and insane spending of trillions of dollars without so much as blinking, angers began to quickly rise with unemployment rates, and it was absolutely guaranteed that taxes would as well. Americans began to become acutely aware of just how out of control our government was quickly growing, which also began to emphasize and encourage a deep division between political parties.Predicting the effect this would have on all Americans, Beck began drawing folks attention to the way Americans behaved the day after the 9/11 terrorist's attacks on our Nation; party preferences were instantaneously transformed into Americans standing side by side. Beck emphasizes at his www.912project.com website; “This is a non-political movement. The 9-12 Project is designed to bring us all back to the place we were on September 12, 2001…we were united as Americans, standing together to protect the greatest nation ever created.” He goes on to add that we can and should stand together again if we feel this country is worth fighting for. Even though it seems like they [the government] surround us, the reality is... "We Surround Them"! Thus, on March 13th, 2009 several folks gathered together at Poor Boy's Steakhouse in Casper, to view the Glenn Beck “We Surround Them” specially televised program at the bequest of Mary Mitchell. After this gathering, several internet sites were utilized by these participants to remain in contact with one another. While all were invited, just a small handful of folks first began meeting in person to discuss establishing an official group, and to begin preparations to host a Tea Party in Casper in response to the nation-wide Tax Day Tea Party event that most concerned Americans were becoming involved in. Simultaneously during our Tax Day Tea Party preparations, we also worked very hard on attracting new members just as concerned and committed as ourselves towards the values, principles and goals of our group. The 9 Principles and 12 values, which were condensed by Glenn Beck, come from the Founding Fathers of our country; The 9 Principles are: 1. America is Good. 2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life. 3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday. 4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government. 5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it. 6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results. 7. I work hard for what I have. I will share it with whom I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable. 8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion. 9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me. The 12 Values are: 1. Honesty 5. Humility 9. Hard Work 2. Reverence 6. Charity 10. Courage 3. Hope 7. Sincerity 11. Personal Responsibility 4. Thrift 8. Moderation 12. Gratitude During that period of time, we agreed upon our name, our Mission Statement and the permanent website that we would use as one of our primary tools for our newly established grassroots group; Wyoming 9/12 Project at www.wyo912project.com. Wyoming 9/12 Project Mission Statement 1. To educate each on the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, and the basic foundation of this nation. 2. To inform every member of bills and legislation that is up for a vote, or has recently passed and their effects on the rights and freedoms of all. 3. To provide each member an opportunity to take action when such bills and legislation is unconstitutional, by way of petitions, protests, and letters written to our representatives. 4. And lastly to give members a support group that shares the same concerns and determination to make a difference. After the Casper Tax Day Tea Party, which was a huge success, we were able to finally focus on the administrative aspects of our group so that we can quickly and efficiently keep the ball rolling towards Washington. Thus, on April 19th the core members held an official meeting and a volunteer board of directors was established. Because all of Wyoming 912 Project's goals are being carried out by volunteers, there have been some fluctuations in various positions as we find a 'perfect fit' for volunteers who have the time and commitment. It is our intention to remain as an organized group for as long as it takes to get our country, our government and our future back on the path of our constitutional freedoms, values and principles. We will consistently implement every aspect of our mission statement for as long as it takes to meet these goals. In other words; when the patriotic spirit is not only resurrected, but here to stay. And we will likely stay on for that as well, because that is when the real fun will begin again! |
